Exercise plays a major role in managing Diabetes. To keep your blood sugar levels in control and lower the chance of getting the disease in the first place, it is really important to keep your body active and mind relaxed.

2.Supta Matsyendrasana (Supine Spinal Twist)

 This relaxing twist helps in massaging the internal organs and with that it exerts pressure on the abdominal organs as well which leads to better functioning of the pancreas and the endocrine system.

3.Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend)

Thi posture is very well known to improve the functioning of the pancreas and other abdominal organs. This is also a great pose to improve the flexibility of the hamstrings and to reduce belly fat. In case of Diabetes this pose helps keep one’s blood sugar levels in check as it helps to stimulate the functioning of the renal system as well.

4.Padahastasana (Hand to Foot Pose)

This pose is also known as the hand under foot pose. It helps in the stimulation of organs in the abdominal region such as kidneys, pancreas and liver and it also helps in strengthening and promoting the proper functioning of these organs. It releases any tension in the mind and body and helps relax.

5.Mandukasana (Frog Pose)

This pose is also known as the frog pose. It is one of the best yoga poses for people with Diabetes. This pose stretches the pancreas to promote Insulin release. It also promotes better digestion and improves the function of the other glands in your body.

Having Diabetes doesn’t mean that it is necessary to live a life of deprivation. You just simply need to bring balance in your routine and your meals. Ensure that you make appropriate food choices to manage your blood sugar levels and to avoid the consumption of sweet and starchy carbs which are the major reasons for raised blood sugar levels. In the case of Diabetes, how well you can manage its symptoms  is defined by your food choices.

It doesn’t mean to cut off your favorite foods completely, instead you can start consuming them occasionally in small quantities while following your healthy diet and can also work towards reversing it.

It is important that your diet must be rich in good probiotics which are beneficial bacteria that reside in the human stomach and aid with digestion and general health. Greek yoghurt is a great alternative as it is low in sugar and high in probiotics. Nuts of all variants include fiber and are low in digestible carbohydrates which is why they don’t spike blood sugar and their regular intake lowers blood sugar.  Berries or jamun are said to be really great to maintain Diabetes. It improves hemoglobin count, boosts immunity and maintains oral health.
